I am working to build a permanent home (my dream home) on a site that has a double wide modular on a permanent foundation, that we are living in now. Has anyone done this and what is involved in moving the existing home eventually? Any advise would be appreciated.
It has a crawl space foundation that has settled incorrectly causing the walls to crack and the windows to not open in the livingroom. (Built in 1996) The way the foundation sits it’s does not tie in with the foundation for the new house. Also, I’m wondering if the existing septic system is compatible with more bathrooms are there restrictions on that in TN. (From 2 baths to 3 1/2.) I would like to reuse as much existing systems as possible.

Hello, I want to install laminate flooring. I have a modular home (I plan to tear out the carpet). I cannot feel anything obviously uneven under the carpet. I am wondering if I will have a problem with where the marriage seam is. My home is on a full basement with all the reinforcements (metal pole thingy’s). It has been here for 2.5 years, so hopefully all the settling has been done. Any advice? And I have been thinking about Toklo 12 or 14 mm. Anyone hear of that or use it?

My husband and I are looking to purchase a modular home. We found one for 87, 200 which we feel is reasonable. Minus the cost of land, how much do you think our additional costs will be if we remain reasonable about the situation? I don’t have much experience with this situation but it just seems like one of those predicaments where unexpected costs keep popping up.
